The first UGFA Award for Veterinary Professional Practice is intended to provide tangible recognition for an UGFA Veterinarian Member for their contribution toward excellence in Professional Practice. This will include Veterinarians at the Ontario Veterinary College, Ridgetown Campus or Animal Health Laboratory. Individuals may be nominated for this award by other UGFA Members on the basis of providing excellent Veterinary professional practice to the community.
Presentation: the citation is normally presented at the annual reception held in the fall. The recipient will be presented with a plaque and a monetary award of $500.00.
Nominations may be made by UGFA members.
Nominations must clearly indicate:
a) the name of the nominee;
b) documentation to support the nomination (see below);
c) the name and phone number of the nominator.
Any individual who, at the date of nomination, is a member of UGFA is eligible to be nominated and to receive the Award.
A Member may only receive an Award once.
There are no fixed criteria or decision rules for the selection of UGFA award winners; members of the selection committee may weight different areas and different sources of evidence as they see fit. However, a number of broad guidelines have emerged from discussions of the committee, of which nominators should take account, in preparing their submissions.
