The Award
UGFA Unit 2 Award for Excellence or Innovation in Teaching
Eligibility
Any Member of UGFA Unit 2 who has teaching responsibilities, including college research professors, college professors, and college lecturers
Purpose
This award is intended to provide tangible recognition for excellent contributions toward teaching and learning, broadly defined.
Members may be nominated for an UGFA Unit 2 teaching award on the basis of excellent performance in any of the following areas of teaching:

Presentation: This award is normally presented at the annual reception in the spring. Each recipient will be presented with a plaque and a monetary award of $500.00.

Nominations may be made by students or any member of the University of Guelph community.

Eligibility
Any individual who, at the date of nomination, is a member of UGFA Unit 2 is eligible to be nominated and to receive the award.
A Member may only receive this award once.
Criteria
There are no fixed criteria for the selection of UGFA Unit 2 award winners; members of the selection committee may weigh different categories of teaching and different sources of evidence as they see fit. However, a number of broad guidelines have emerged from discussions of the committee, which nominators should consider in preparing their submissions.
